In mid-December, a karakia was held for the Waitomo Group service centre at Ruakura Superhub. This service centre, which has been built by Waitomo Group, is a flagship facility for the family-owned business, which celebrated 75 years of operation last year. Having only been operating as fuel retailer for a decade, and now with more than 80 Fuel Stops and Diesel Stops across New Zealand, the opening of the Ruakura Superhub site was another proud and exciting moment for Waitomo Group Managing Director Jimmy Ormsby.
“Opening our new Ruakura Superhub Service Centre in December has really cemented Waitomo’s position as the leading fuel retailer in the Waikato region,” Jimmy says.
“We’re incredibly proud to be involved with this project of national significance, and the response we’ve received from the public about the quality of the asset we’ve developed there, adjacent to the Waikato Expressway, has been phenomenal.
As expected, with easy access off the Expressway, the Fuel Stop is pumping and our subtenants, McDonalds and KFC, have been non-stop since opening. With the opening of other facilities on site including St Pierre’s Sushi, Robert Harris, and a convenience store in the next couple of months, it can only get better!”
