Just 12 months on, the site has grown beyond the initial fuel stop services with two additional EV chargers installed in July, and multiple restaurants and café services.
Waitomo Group CEO Simon Parham said it’s hard to believe the company’s Ruakura Superhub site has celebrated its first birthday.
“What a year it’s been. The response from the wider Waikato community has been fantastic, and it’s now really become the one-stop shop for both our retail and commercial customers needing to fuel up in the Waikato region,” he says.
“Smack bang in the middle of the golden triangle, adjacent to the Expressway, Ruakura really is a project of national significance and we’re honoured that TGH gave us the opportunity to deliver a top-class service for the region.”
Sub-tenants at the Waitomo Service Centre include McDonalds, KFC, St Pierre’s Sushi and most recently, Robert Harris Café. They serve the ever increasing number of pit-stoppers travelling through Waikato region, as well as workers from within the Superhub, and local residential communities.
