As the developer, TGH has commissioned Calder Stewart to build the new 1,000sqm facility for RFF, with construction already underway.
The depot is targeted to a Green Star 4 rating and sits on a 5,000sqm lot, offering plenty of growing room for RFF’s starting fleet of seven new delivery trucks. It is expected to be ready by late 2024.
RFF chief executive Michael Roberts says the business chose the Ruakura Superhub for its central location in the North Island’s economic hub. This is their first depot for the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions.
“We see having a freight hub in the Waikato region as a necessity. Many of our key customers already have a strong production and delivery presence in the region, and we anticipate an even greater increase in demand for food, and food processing, primarily in the golden triangle. Our investment in growth at Ruakura will solidify our network across the North Island and help us deliver high-quality service to our customers,” says Roberts. TGH is delighted to welcome RFF to the whaanau at Ruakura Superhub.
